Will Wood / Fish In A Birdcage

To start, Fish In A Birdcage was great. I'd heard a few of his songs but I'm not like, a huge fan. He mostly played the cello, and it was great live. He also got his partner, Luna, on stage, and revealed that "(they) were about to do the ultimate collab-(they) were having a baby together!" Luna was just a little visibly pregnant, it was sweet.

We also got to learnt that one of the songs of his I'd heard, Rule 34 (lol) was originallly written for 50 Shades of Grey 2... insane backstory. It did not make it into the movie, but you can tell from the song that like... yeah, sounds about right.

Also, we got VIP last second. Will posted that there were a few VIP tickets that opened last second, and I just had to. This got us signed posters, lanyards and signed VIP badges, tote bags, early access to merch, and... a QnA beforehand. Totally worth it, just to be that close.

We learned that Will's partner, Christina, actually came up with the bandname Will Wood and the Tapeworms... Will just forgot until she mentioned it again later.

He also revealed that he was engaged to her! They saw that Costco sold engagement rings (insane) and that they could buy one on instacart (even more insnae), made a joke about how they FOR SURE wouldn't actually deliver it... so when they did actually deliver it, he essentailly proposed. It was very cool.

This tour was for the 10-year anniversary of one of his albums, Everything Is A Lot, so a lot of it was telling old stories. Stuff about the songs themsselves, and just general old experiences that inspired them. It was a lot of fun.

Not a lot of songs, but yknow... that's fine. Will Wood shows are really mostly comedy shows with some songs scattered throughout.

Also, Alladin kept coming up as an ongoing bit, so the last song had bits of Alladin songs thrown in. Very fun.

Would absolutely see him again-each tour has it's own thing going on, and I like em. Would go again if he goes on tour again.

Also, apparently possibly new Will Wood music in 2027... VERY excited.
